Fun With the Grandkiddos

Tori and Brianna
I've been so consumed with preparing for my upcoming heel surgery, that yesterday when twin granddaughters Tori and Brianna came for a visit, I suddenly realized that I am long overdue to share some grandchildren news.

On daughter Rachel's way to her haircut, she dropped them off at our place.  They immediately announced that they had "passed" and that they were now 2nd graders.  Wow.  How did that happen?  It seems like yesterday they were just days old and cuddling with each other in the same tiny little bed.

So after doing a few exercises with their Uncle Caleb, they played several amusing-to-watch games of Twister.  They had never played this game before and consequently there were plenty of giggles and crashings down onto the game mat.  Competition between those two is always fun yet fierce.

Recently the husband/lover/driver and I traveled with Tori and Brianna to Hershey.  After a pleasant two hour ride filled with plenty of fun car games, we arrived.  There we met up with daughter Lindsay, her husband Todd, and our other two grandchildren, Jarrod and Ellie, at Hershey's Chocolate World, the "Sweetest Place on Earth."

We all enjoyed the free ride that demonstrates how those candy kisses and candy bars we all love and crave are made.  All except Ellie, that is.  She was a little terrified and probably scarred for life  concerned about those weird large animatronic cows in the milk area.

Here's my collection of pictures from that happy day:

After the chocolate tour, back at the house we played games and ate some snacks - chocolate, of course.

Monday this little girl turns TWO, and I cannot believe how fast these first two years have gone.  She just gets cuter by the day.  Her personality continues to emerge, and it's great fun watching her grow.

I just received the report that for her birthday celebration, she visited the zoo today.  Weird, but the outing did not go as expected, as she did not care at all for the large animals.  Too scary.  However, she did like the lynx (go figure?) and the prairie dogs.  And she loves feeding the geese and ducks, as long as they don't nip at her pant legs.  Then she angrily tells them "Hey!"  and gives them her mad face and points her "back off" finger at them.

Happy 7th birthday granddaughters Tori and Brianna!  (May 12)
Happy 33rd birthday daughter Rachel! (June 9)
Happy 2nd birthday granddaughter Ellie! (June 10)

Now, where's the cake?

  1. I visited Hershey way back many years ago when my Uncle went to a Wally Byam Caravan convention there. I do remember that the whole town smelled like a chocolate bar!!

Those greandaughtes are precious. Give them my congratulations for passing. May they never loose their enthusiasm.
