For a change it's nice to sleep as late as we want, and then stay in our pajamas till noon. It's great to enjoy the leisurely preparation of a meal without the phone ringing, the washer or dryer buzzing, and rushing to be ready for a meeting or appointment. It's heavenly to languish for hours reading a good book or even just paging through magazines that have been piling up. I even spread out some crafty stuff for a creative project on the picnic table yesterday in the afternoon. More on that in a future post though.
For today I will just show you a little bit of this and that from our campsite. The husband/lover/best friend and I are very attuned to nature around us, and here is an amazing work of artistry I found in the morning under our awning. Something was very busy during the night creating it.
Can you see the rainbow of colors in the weave with the sun shining through?
We have hummingbirds feasting at our feeder too. However, I don't think it will be long until they are migrating to wherever they go in the winter. We only see one hummer every now and then, and that is a lot less than the last time we camped several weeks ago.
The husband spent a good amount of energy and engineering to drag a very large stump to our campfire ring. He had been eyeing it laying about 15 yards away and felt it was asking to be burned. It was quite a chore to get it up, over and into our campfire, and I was surely amused watching the effort. The things and projects that occupy men sometimes make me scratch my head. And, isn't it just the most
Well, he has his projects and I have mine. This morning I had a mind to do a little baking. I experimented with a new recipe and some new bakeware and made us some yummy mini donuts. Who doesn't like the fragrance of pastries baking in the camper? I frosted them and then decided to sprinkle them BLUE in honor of our blue camper interior and this possibly being our last outing in this camper, now that we have bought a new one. (See yesterday's post if you missed it.)
Here's another view in case you aren't salivating yet:
Well I need to mosey on back to the camper now - there is lots to be done. I think I hear a good book calling my name. And a donut too. Perhaps I'll watch a movie. Whatever, I know I will
relax, relax, and relax some more.
