Eight Days and Counting

I saw this sign and it made me think of our current car situation.  If you are a regular reader you may recall that our car was flattened two weeks ago by a falling tree in a windy storm.  If you want to read about how this storm got us that day, you can click here.

Unfortunately the cost of our repairs doesn't seem to be anywhere on that list.  The entire top of our car is being replaced, and when I look again at the storm photos, that doesn't surprise me.

Although the service shop estimated that the repairs will take 10 to 12 work days, I'm antsy to get the car back.

Why?  Certainly not because I'm so in love with my car that I can't bear to be apart from it.

It's more that getting up into and down out of my husband's large and manly man truck is quite difficult for me while recovering from my foot surgery.  And you know he just loves that part about loading me up in there, with a good body grab and a hoist of my backside.

And hauling myself up out of my son's small, low Scion is challenging in another way.  Son Caleb is all about fitness, and he thinks I should enjoy the satisfaction of pulling myself up and out of there, allbymyself, in spite of having a useless leg.

So I want my car back, my car that I can easily get in and out of.  Not too high.  Not too low.  Just right.

While I'm on a roll about cars, here are a few other random car-related tidbits from the past few days:

1.  I'm grateful this was not the fate of my car:

2.  That's one big lap dog up there in the front seat:

3.  Isn't this a sweet car parked there at our local Sheetz?

Eight days now and counting.  I want my ride back.

  3. Ouch. I guess you don't have rental reimbursement coverage on your auto policy. Hope the repairs go smoothly.
