In order to prepare for this trip, we purchased a new set of tires, and then we did something we've never done before: we hired someone to professionally clean and wax the car. I was hesitant. It seemed like such an extravagant thing to do. However, here's how it went, and I am a new convert to this business of hiring for our car care:
- The man came to my house at 10 AM and picked up my car, leaving me a loaner car.
- The man returned with my spotless car to my house at 2 PM.
- I wrote the man a check for $63.60.
- I went and took pictures before it rained.
- Done.
HOW EASY IS THAT?
If I would put a monetary value on the hours it would have taken me to do a similar job, and add in the costs of the wax and cleaning supplies, I would not end up nearly as cheaply as I did.
Here it is, in all its glory, and then it rained of course:
Our 2008 Honda Accord, looking like new |
Clean and shiny new tires |
Spotless interior |
No more cheerios and cheese curls in the cracks |
No more spills from the grandkids' ice cream cone kerplops |
This trunk is clean enough for a dead body. |
So, we are READY TO ROLL! Westward ho!
Stay tuned, and watch for POSTCARDS FROM OHIO.
Bon Voyage!
worth every penny you paid...I'd pay that to have my car looking like yours...have a wonderful trip...

I'm glad you posted on my blog so I could follow yours. I can't wait to hear about the AF museum, we were there last summer and it was an all day trip. It's wonderful.
