No, I Won't Go There

By now I am just about 3/4 of the way into my first year of blogging, and I'm hoping my readers are enjoying the process as much as I am.

If I travel, I write "postcards" from the road, and if I stay home, I post whatever is running through this little brain or happening in my small corner of the world.  Either way I'm having fun.

Since it is early in the new year, I am still in the process of planning our 2013 vacation/camping/day trips/sightseeing/see-the-world adventures.  Stay tuned, and as we start setting our plans into stone, watch down below at the very bottom of the blog and you'll see what's coming.

For today, however, I'm not packing any bags.  As a matter of fact, I'll be seeing the doctor in a few hours, trying to figure out how to battle a very tenacious sore throat and cough.  It arrived on New Year's Day, and it is time for it to go.  I mean it.

Back to this blog post - I've been disqualifying every thought that has passed through my noggin about what I could write today.  So perhaps I'll just list all those Things I Shouldn't Blog About.  Here goes:

1.  How long it has been since I shaved my legs.  (It's winter so who cares.)  This just gets tricky if I schedule a pedicure, but I haven't taken care of that in a coon's age either.

2.  Daughter Sarah's fertility troubles.  (Let's just say they are improving.)  No, I won't go there.

3.  How many days in a row I wore my favorite "soft" pants before washing them.

4.  My favorite "secret" recipes.  (If I had any.)

5.  What is really in sausage and hot dogs.  No, I won't go there either.

6.  How much gas I had last night.  You really don't want me to go there.

7.  The current weather.  Now I know there are many people that would both agree or disagree with me on that one.  Here are some others' thoughts on talking about the weather:

"I'm a big follower and reactor to weather."  (Jimmy Buffet)

"Conversation about the weather is the last refuge of the unimaginative."  (Oscar Wilde)

"Weather forecast for tonight:  dark."  (George Carlin)

"Change of weather is the discourse of fools."  (Thomas Fuller)

"Don't knock the weather; nine tenths of the people couldn't start a conversation if it didn't change once in a while."  (Kim Hubbard)

Think what you may think about weather blogging, but no, I just won't go there.  Usually.
