A Small Town's Parade of Voters/Scarecrows

(Note:  this post was written Tuesday, Voting Day)  As I write this post I can hear numerous groups of both small children heading past my home on their way to their bus stops, and people heading to the voting polls located 1/2 block up the street from me.

As I have nothing to say today on either of those fronts, education or politics, (and trust me you don't want to get me started there either), I've decided to go with a Fall decor theme today.

I live in a very small town, but in spite of that the Garden Club in my town is very active.  Eating lunch one day in a cafe on the main street, I looked across the street to see that the club members had decorated the town park with a plethora of scarecrows for the Fall season.  So I took myself on a leisurely walk through the park and gathered some pictures along the way.

Here then is our Parade of Scarecrows:

Little ones too hiding in and under the bushes

Look closely at this last one and you will see he's got a fishing rod.  I found myself chuckling numerous times as I strolled through the park, and surely a lot of creativity went into some of the characters I saw there.  I wondered if some of the creations were representations of the careers or hobbies of the people that put them together.

Alas, the last time I drove by, they were gone.  POOF.  Gone.

I guess that means Christmas is coming.

And.   I'm.  Not.  Ready.

  1. You're right on two accounts.
    1. Someone put a lot of though into those creations.
    2. It's only 45 days until Christmas. What are you waiting for? LOL
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  2. Cool photo collection of scarecrows :)

They are indeed dressed up and not just ordinary field scarecrows. They might be too cute to scare the birds.
