We are so excited and have begun a countdown until departure day. Of course we are looking forward to doing all the sunshine/water/beach related things available to do at our resort, along with some general sight-seeing of the interior of the island.
I cannot help myself now - I keep looking at the photos from our Jamaican vacation last year, and anticipating enjoying some of the same activities, yet making new memories. I want to share with you a few photos from that trip and then ask you for your advice.
Here is the hubby after a particularly fun snorkeling trip. I love this picture of him, because he looks so happy, and it is typically hard to catch a smiley photo of him in which he looks truly natural.
Here are a few underwater shots. We took these photos with a cheap (about $10) underwater camera we had purchased at our home Wal-mart and packed in our suitcases.
As you can see, although the beauty of these underwater coral areas is evident, our photo quality is very poor. We would like to purchase a better underwater camera to take along, and to have for future trips.
So friends, if you have any experience with an underwater camera that will give us satisfactory pictures, but will not require us to sell a child to pay for it, please advise us. We will be grateful for any information you may have for us.
The countdown has begun.
I'm smiling.
Best wishes for your coming trip. I'm no help when it comes to underwater cameras. I stay away from sandy beaches & water. I'm a mountains girl.
ReplyDeleteKathy has a Canon Powershot D10 it is waterproof up to 33 feet deep. We will be trying it underwater for the first time tomorrow when we swim with the Manatees. We use it on dry land and get great pictures and have used it during rainstorms without worrying about it getting wet. It cost $300.00 (Inflated Canadian Price) almost two years ago. Be Safe and Enjoy!

I would be smiling too!
ReplyDeleteHappy 35th, my hubby and I celebrate 35 years today. Enjoy your trip. Good luck finding a camera. I am sure there are a few out there. Everyone will have a recommendation so just go to one of the camera review sites.

My Apologies for not wishing you a happy 35th yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThe camera I described above took the restaurant pictures and the underwater pictures in our Sunday post for you to check out. Be Safe and Enjoy!
