Pedicures and War

Since there are only 3 "sleeps" till we leave for Jamaica, I have been busily checking things off my GET READY lists.  Yesterday I noticed it was time for a much needed pedicure.  As many of you know, I participate a lot in kickboxing, judo, and jujitsu.  My feet take a beating!  Because workouts are done barefoot on mats, my toes grow gargantuan callouses, the nail polish rubs off, and my feet and ankles are usually accessorized by multiple colorful bruises.

What's a girl to do?  So off I went to see Johnn, my favorite nail guy at Star Nails in Lewisburg.  He always makes me look good, and is a real personable guy too.  We pass the hour talking about our travel plans and dreams.  He is anxious to visit his relatives in Viet Nam later this fall and is trying to coax me to put Viet Nam on my travel list too.  He describes the beautiful beaches with turquoise-colored water and the mouth-watering fresh seafood.  It's tempting.

And HERE IS WHERE I REALLY GOT TO THINKING SOME HEAVY THOUGHTS:

THE MASSAGE

The massage.  Keep in mind that all throughout the process, the chair I am relaxing in is going through a programmed neck, back and seat massage.  Now add the foot and leg massage, and I am in a stupor am mellow and content and happy, and I have the feeling that all is right with the world. And then I am thinking.

  What if all the:

Presidents

Dictators

Emperors

Sheiks

Kings

Princes

Commanders

Officers

Captains

Governors

Senators

Representatives

Chairmen

Town council heads

Committee heads

Fathers

Husbands

went and got a PEDICURE every month?  THERE WOULD BE NO WARS!!!!                           

All wars are being halted, right here, right now.  

So that's my proposal.  We should all do this.  Go find some peace.

Working toward WORLD PEACE..... I am more ready for Jamaica than I was yesterday.
