Birthday Camping

I am spending my birthday relaxing here in the woods, and it doesn't get any better than that, does it?  And yes, I am a 9/11 baby.  Can a person legally change his/her birthday?  Hmmm.  I have to think about that.

We are nestled away in the woods at a small private campground, Camp Hebron, in Halifax, Pennsylvania for the week.  This was my birthday wish.  When we arrived we looked around and what to our wondering eyes should behold, but us, alone, with the entire campground to ourselves!  Awesome!  In fact, in order to take the picture you see above I walked several sites away IN MY PAJAMAS, no one around to see.  At $22 a night for a private sight with full hook-ups, this is a very nice deal for a one week relaxing getaway.

My birthday started out with yummy homemade cinnamon sugar donut mini-muffins made right in our little camper oven.  Not only was our camper filled with a wonderful aroma, but we had a tasty decadent breakfast.  It wasn't entirely unhealthy though  - we ate some bananas too.

Here they are ready to bake:

And here is our finished pile of scrumptiousness:

They were small so we pigged out and ate darn near the whole plateful several plus a banana.

Next I was notified by the husband/lover/best friend/mailman that mail had arrived.  I went outside to find a sweet birthday card tucked in the door:

Sipping my coffee and languishing in my pj's, I spent several hours leisurely pouring over recipe and craft ideas in several Fall magazines.  I found so many good ideas that I will need to throw at least 66 parties between now and Halloween.

So, skies are blue, temperatures are in the low 70's, there is no humidity and no prediction of rain until we are scheduled to return home.  How did we pick such a fine week?  It is almost always raining at this time of the year in central Pennsylvania.

The order of business for the afternoon is to relax and read some good books by a crackling fire. We've got a good start on that for now.  It's been a great birthday so far.  Tomorrow the plan is to attend America's Largest RV Show in Hershey, Pennsylvania.  We have been planning for the last 3 years or so to make our next camper purchase, and so we are down to the business of checking colors and minor details.
 Stay tuned!  New camper ahead!
